The
Mill Valley Affordable Housing Committee is a group
comprised of individuals, government agencies,
religious and secular organizations concerned with the
imbalance in housing opportunities in our communities.
The committee focuses on, advocates for, and
encourages community awareness of the need for housing
affordable to all income levels.
GOALS:
To
remain informed on proposed initiatives, legislation
and projects relevant to housing
issues.
To
foster community awareness of the critical shortage of
affordable housing, and the subsequent societal impact
thereof. To this end, to sponsor public awareness
events and seek media coverage of same.
To
maintain channels of communication and collaboration
with city and county governmental entities and with
local agencies involved in housing
issues.
To
encourage the City of Mill Valley to develop policies
and support housing projects that are consistent with
the general plan and that adequately address immediate
and long term need for new affordable
units.
