It
is abundantly clear that the community that cannot
house its workforce or its grown children is
seriously out of balance and will not long sustain
the social impact of the resultant inequity.
What
can be done to improve the
situation?
Obviously
we need creative solutions at the public and
private levels, but everyone can do something!
So
What Can We Do?
Become
aware of projects and city decisions that involve
creation of affordable units.
Attend
meetings dealing with proposed housing for low and
moderate income, and support worthy
projects.
Speak
out; advocate for enabling policies and programs,
including equitable inclusionary
standards.
Work
with environmentalists, other citizens' groups and
church groups to support a balanced and healthy
community.
You
can do this! We can do this! Contribute your time,
money, passion. Create a second unit. Donate a
building site!! Join our committee!!
The
sooner everyone - young, old, rich and poor - can
again afford to live in Mill Valley, the healthier
we are, the more Mill Valley we are.
We
Can Do This!
